Does adding a coke or a juice to liquor decrease the amount of alcohol in the drink?!

Question: Or does it make it any less potent?

Answers: Or does it make it any less potent?

As mentioned, it does change the percentage of alcohol in the glass. If you fill a 12oz glass with 35proof Schnapps, then 100% of that glass contains alcohol. (lets ignore how much/strong the alcohol is.) If you fill the glass only to 6oz of Schnapps and add 6oz of juice, then the glass only contains 50% alcohol.

As a side note, adding caffeine to a drink is supposed to make the alcohol hit your system faster. You should feel the effects of a caffeinated beverage faster then a non caffeinated one. Juice or other sugared liquids doesn't affect alcohol absorption as far as I know. It shouldn't change your hang over either, thats caused by dehydration.

nope, just adds calories and lessens the flavor of the liquor.

Nope, it just adds more sugar :/

no/.

As it does not change the actual makeup of the already added alcohol the alcohol content of the beverage.

not one bit, just adds flavor. The only way to get rid of the alcohol is to cook it off.

It doesn't change the actual amount of liquor in the drink but does change the percentage of liquor in the drink.

No. No. Adding anything with sugar in it will increase your hangover.

no it doesnt

It will make it taste less potent, and it will dilute it. It's like if you have a sugar cube (alcohol) and put it in water. It won't taste as sweet dissolved in the water as it will on it's own, but it's still the same amount of sugar.

... yeah, that's all I could come up with. :P

no to both questions. if you have 1 oz of alcohol, and you add oj how could that possibly decrease the amount of alcohol ?

Nothing you can add will remove alcohol It will make it less concentrated.
