Answers: 1978 is it still ok to drink.

No Champagne has a very short shelf life, You can drink it but it's turned....

hell yeh if the storage conditions were right...

chill it at 48 degrees and then pop it open... only one way to find out...

first i'd find out how much it costs... online.. see what the value of it is.... 1978 holy cow!

yeah it is many ppl buy some that are like 20 years old and drink

As long as the seal is not broke a big yes by the way i would check out the bottle and see how much you can get for it!!!!! WOW

depends on how it was stored- cool dark controlled temp on it's side to keep cork moist. BUT most champagnes only last 10-15 years rarely more than 20 . It might taste good but lost it's fizz...dom was never one of my favs cristal is much tastier :)
good luck

Once the sediment has been taken out of the bottle Champagne only has a very short shelf life, Many of the older champagnes are new releases, meaning the sediment has just been taken out. so as long as you know and trust your provider then the champagne should still have life in it. If you have had it stored for more than about 3-4 years then I wouldn't put a lot of faith in it. But to be honest open it, and hope it is enjoyable. If not sell the bottle on e-bay.. even the empty bottle should fetch a fair amount!

its gotta be off!!! white wine dont last long at all.

why dont you come over my place ?
