What is the best Bourbon -Knob Creek or Woodford.?!

Question:

What is the best Bourbon -Knob Creek or Woodford.?

An old friend is coming over & he said he want the smoothest tasting. I tried Makers and no offense I thought that was crap. My coworker said Knob Creek or Woodford Reserves. Woodford is a little bit more expensive.....does that mean it is better. I want to know the smoothest of the two.

Thanks in advance

Answers:
I got turned on to Woodford Reserve by a friend a few years back, and to this day it is still my favorite bourbon. I would definitely recommend it over Knob Creek, which is ok, but nearly as smooth as the Woodford. I think you should try it - invest the little extra and I truly believe you will find it worth it!

Try Pappy Van Winkles. The 20 Year old from them is one of the best I've had. Very very smooth. Good oakey and nutty flavor. It's a bit pricey at about $80/bottle but I think it's well worth it.

Main ingredient of Bourbon is either Rye or Wheat -- Maker's Mark is wheat based, Knob Creek & Woodford are both Rye. Very different taste between the 2 styles, which may be why you didn't like Maker's. If Knob Creek & Woodford are only choices, I'd go with Knob Creek -- smoother & better tasting. Others: Buffalo Trace (about $18) & Blanton's (about $40) -- both Rye based and taste great.

knob creek, very smooth and tasty
