How much do you tip out at the end of a night drinking?
My fave bartender I tip out anywhere from $30-$50 dollars...and is it wrong for bartenders to give some free drinks to you? I understand don't do it alot because its stealing (the bartender) from the bar..but everyone gives a "on the house" drink out once and again...my friends tip $1.00 or $2.00!? what?! I think that is horrible if your at the bar for a few hours or at someones table for a few hours..to tip so low..and do waitresses give bartenders some of their tip if the people sitting at their table ordered lots of drinks (obvioulsy made by the bartender) just curious!

I have bar tended for 6 years now in various situations and I think it is acceptable to at least tip a dollar per drink. And you are right I would also take into consideration how long you were sitting there. On the other end of things I have given and gotten plenty of free drinks here and there, this is either because I was a good tipper or have gotten previously good tips from my customers. My regulars often get free drinks because I know they are going to make it worth my while, if I were serving you with your $30 tip you may not be charged for any of your drinks (this helps you out for helping me out, maybe turning a $100 night into a $30 night). People who give poor tips tend to get watered down drinks and less attention/ poor service. Anyone who tips like this should spend a day in the service industry...most of us don't even earn minimum wage...usually it is around $2.30/hr because the government expect you will make up the other $3.15 in tips. Because of frequent bad tippers that isn't always the case. Hope this helped...tell your friends whatz up! Good luck to you!
Always tip a decent bartender AT LEAST 20%, you'll continue to get your drinks with acceptable timeliness...
If a bartender gives you a drink, that's fantastic! He's flirting or thanking you for your generosity and he wouldn't do it if he couldn't--so accept the gift with a smile and a thank you and a bigger tip...
Your friends need a serious lesson in tipping (they need to bartend or wait tables for a while to see what it takes)--most of em only make $2.13 and hour...
And yes, most waitress (if not by force from the employer, then out of decency) tip out the bartender.
Depends on the experience. If the experience is poor, I've tipped as little as nothing, but I don't stay either. I move on and find something better. On the flip side, I have tipped over 100% of my tab because I had enjoyed myself that much.
I tip at least $2-$5 a drink depends on the service and the bartender.and Im always with a group and we drink alot and also tip good so whoever serves us gets a decent cash wad at the end of the night
Yes, I'm a bartender and I work as a cocktail waitress. We tip out 40% of our tips. If I make $100, I walk with $60. That 40% is divided among food runners, bussers, and bartenders.
$1 per drink unless they ignore you than NOTHING!
