What is so good & pleasurable about excessive alcohol consumption?
My daughters 34 & 37 & (son in laws) get sloshed on every family gathering occasion. The grog is free is that the catch? I don't know!

Booze lowers inhibitions and probably helps them forget their problems.

It distorts reality so it makes you feel great and it also makes you forget about your worries most of the time.
Not necessarily... I am no alcoholic... but I remember that on one occasion when I was buzzed I simply became more calm and I was relaxed. I really loved that.. I could just forget all my worries for those few hours.. You should have a one to one talk and determine if they are trying to avoid a situation or if they are worried about some thing personal..
You can deal alot better with your in law's when your drunk.
i guess the release from reality would make it great, until u got sober then life sucks again
