Can drinking multiple tupes of alcohol make you sick?!

Question: Can drinking different kinds of alcohol instead of just one type make you sick? Last night I was not that drunk, only a little and by the time I went to bed it had pretty much worn off, but when I was trying to sleep, I got so sick. I threw up 4 times and wasn't able to sleep until 4am (I went to bed at 2am).

I drank one vodka shot, about 1 1/2 cans of beer, and 2 cups of cider and rum- (which may have equaled about 2 shots).

I mean, that is really not THAT much, right? (this was in a like 4 hour period.)

I am just wondering why I got so sick? Anyone have any ideas?

Good question! "Beer b4 liquor never been sicker. Liquor b4 beer your in the clear." Don't mix the 2 next time an you'll be fine.

One of my mentors ones said what ever you think is true will be true for you. So let's start with how to let go of being a Turning Alcoholic, and in the process we'll go over steps to overcome any additions.

Let's start with something I've learned and always remembered from my psychology class. My professor explained that recreational use of drugs is not additive (some may argue with me, and that's fine).

So when it comes to alcohol, many will enjoy alcohol recreationally. The danger in anything that makes you feel better when you use it, is that when something happens in your life that creates a negative imbalance, that is when we get addicted to the substance. It is because we need the substance just to be on a normal level.

Take a look at what is in your life and think on what it is you can do to remove/reduce the irritants in your life that are pushing you into the state of mind where you need to drink to feel better. Start small, and think big. Set a big goal, and then ask what can you do that is immediate and positive and will move you towards what you want.

Next, are you ready and willing to stop drinking? If yes, then proceed, if not, then comeback to this when you are ready. No one can make you do anything, or even help you with anything until you are ready.

OK, so, now for the specific things on how to become a non-drinker again.

First things first, the more you tell others that you are a Turning Alcoholic, or simply and Alcoholic, you affirm more and more to yourself that you are. And if you are an Alcoholic, and Alcoholics drink, then you can't stop it since it is part of what you are. So begin by saying to yourself and others that you are a NON-DRINKER, and even better tell people that you are a healthy person.

Please note that this is not "Denial", we all know you have the challenge, so do you. What we are doing is letting you put yourself into the shoes of someone who is a non-drinker, so you can start looking at what it is that you need to do.

Let's start with the place where you live. Does some one who does not drink keeps liquor or beer in the house? No! So then if you want to be there, do what a non-drinking person does. Get rid of all the liquor.

Does a non-drinking person go to a bar? No, because if you don't drink you quickly get bored in a bar!

Does a non-drinking person spend time with others who are drinking? No! He or she will get bored of that company quickly. Well, you may say, - Well then I have no one to hang out with, because all of my friends drink. I will say that you have to distance yourself from them for now, until you are in a place where you want to be. Otherwise you will do what those who you are surrounded by do.

Well in short, begin with the end in mind. You want to be a non-drinking person? Start with that first. Then begin doing and not doing what a non-drinking person does.

Remember that your mind will be the biggest challenge to you change. And your mind is also the easiest to control. Your body will be harder to control, and easier to change. It will also resist. Once you stop drinking for a day or two, your body will go into detoxifying stage. It will feel nasty, hurt, you may get sick. Remember, it is all great, for it is the cleaning process. Drink lots of water to help the process, and stay away from greasy food. Stick to simple starch and fruit/vegetable diet.

Congrats on you being a healthy and prosperous person! Send me any specific questions you have. And remember this process works for any addiction - smoking, drugs, food, etc...

Yep, stick to one thing and you won't feel so sick, and by the way, anything really sweet you drink tends to give you a worse hangover...

Anytime you drink too much alcohol you can get sick. Yes, it's always best to stick with one type of drink. Your body will let you know what you can and cannot tolerate. The biggest thing is, just don't drink too much of anything. What you drank doesn't sound like too much, but it was apparently too many different kinds for your poor tummy to tolerate. These things are supposed to be enjoyed in small amounts. As you get older, you may be able to drink more, just remember, you're not supposed to get plastered every time you pull a cork !

It not only makes you sick but causes lack in good spelling judgement ---:D
