Alchohol intolerance, why am I having such a bad reaction?!
Answers: I do not drink often. When I go out I may have a glass of wine or having company over a couple of glasses of wine. Two nights ago I went to a party and had three rum and cokes. I wasnt drunk. I was having fun socializing but yesterday I was so sick. I was sick to my stomach and today I still feel sick. Is my age a factor I am getting older or is it that my gall bladder is gone, or is it just me. I have always had a bad reaction the next day if I have more then one drink. But now its two days feeling horrible?
Are you slightly diabetic. I heard if you are that there are certain things you cant drink.
you do say that you don't drink to often. maybe your body just isn't set up for it. if you ever smoked, gave up and went back, you would remember feeling really dizzy after the first pull. Maybe this is something similar.
Regarding a cure, i can only suggest a product called "lifeline" available in chemist. Otherwise ensure that you drink 2 pints of water before you go to bed at night. This combats dehydration which causes mush of the ill feeling we have after a night on the rip.
you may have alcohol poisoning, I used to drink, but when I was 48 years old my body started rejecting any type of alcohol. You may have to give it all up.You don't have to be a heavy or even a light drinker to have this problem.keep drinking a lot of water it seems to help flush the body
Be thankful. There are a lot of people who wish they had your problem, to include me. I drink too much, I know I do! Wish it would make me sick to where I didn't want it. LadyBlue, just drink your one or two drinks now and then and consider yourself lucky that you don't have to struggle with it like millons of others do.
Oh! By the way, you've never told me what you thought of my fashion advice?
Three R&C is an awful lot, and it may have taken more out of you than you realized
Those rum & cokes could have had a good deal of rum in them. Hard liquor will affect you more if you aren't used to it than beer or wine. You might want to stick to beer or wine if you are only going to be an occasional drinker.
I am with Brad...be thankful....listen to your body....next time lose the rum and stick to the coke....and then you can be the designated driver to boot! Nothing wrong with not drinking esp if you are sick for two days after....i hope you feel better very soon. :)
