The bottom line is this, If you drink 2 oz. of tequila regardless of what is mixed with you still have consumed 2 oz. of tequila. If you don't like tequila try something else. That's why they make so many different kinds of alcohol.
Tequila IS nasty, but if you do the shot thing it tastes a bit better-
lick the salt
down the tequila
bite on quarter of lime

Either way, drink enough of it with other stuff and you'll still get as hammered as if you drank it neat, but a few minutes slower, that's all :)
What kind of an effect are you looking for? Try mixing it with lots of beer and a ton of pot!! That should do the trick!!!

If you think you don't like the taste, first confirm you are drinking decent tequila. Does it say "100% agave" on the label? If not, walk away from it and find one that does.
Then, if you want a mellower flavor, look for an aged one (darker in color). It will say reposado (slightly aged) or anejo (heavily aged). You may also want to try it on the rocks with a squeeze of lime. Skip the salt, a great tequila doesn't need that.
If you must mix it, try fresh squeezed orange and lime juice or grapefruit juice.
I must confess.....I have a weakness for tequila......I drink it str8, no ice no nothing......if you don't like it try something else.....I will not drink any other alcoholic drink............and for some reason I can drink it without problems........but salt and lime does taste good with it......margartias waste my time LOL..... shots are best...and quick....afterall....does any liquior taste good LOL
See that's what I am talking about. Drink it str8! but Tequila is a acquired taste, I luv it. Do remember that cheap tequila is just that. As much as we Americans have pushed Cuervo, it is the cheaper and taste like it. For you sipping pleasure and too eliminate the gasoline taste, go with Tres Generaciones, Patron, Blue Agave, etc...or even 1800 if you want to be cheap. If you still don't like it, find something else.
