Is there a way to stay sober longer while drinking-and not get sick, too?!

Question:

Is there a way to stay sober longer while drinking-and not get sick, too?

Long story short, I (a 32 yo woman) have been "challenged" by a few friends of mine to a "drink off"-they are men and are all a bit bigger than me. I used to have an awesome tolerance (in college-about 12yrs ago-I know something to be proud of-LOL), but now, I'm not so sure. I've been told that if you drink some pepto bismol before you drink that it coats your stomach and you don't absorb as much alcohol-does anyone know if this is true or do you have any other tips-I want to win, but I don't want to be sick (I never have hangovers and have only gotten sick once, when drinking). I know it is a stupid thing to be doing, but I'll probably do it so if anyone can help, that would be great.

I gotta agree with eating a few hours before - make it a big burger or a huge bowl of pasta and some bread! But it's also really important to be hydrated! Drink a good amount of water up to a few hours before you start...if you're dehydrated, the alcohol will absorb faster and also guarantee you a hangover!

Good Luck! Kick some **s!!

Conditioning - if you are out of practice physically then oh well. You are 32 now and not drinkin' like ya used too. Was it something to be proud of back in the day? So you could put a few guys under the table. I would be more proud of you telling these tards to be a man and tell them that drinking prowess at their age is for the birds. I love my cocktails. But drinking at 32 is to keep the demons at bay, forget about work and make your spouse look better. Screw the "shot" challenge and do some blow off a hooker's *** to show those yahoo's off. I kid. I mean really.

From my experience, eating food high in fat and grease an hour or two before drinking will aborb the alcohol very well.

Another way is to build up your tolerance, so start drinking small amount of wine, beer, or hard liqour. And gradually increase it until the day of the drinking contest.

Good Luck.

eat alot of bread-type foods (i.e. subs, thick crust pizza etc.) to help with the absorbtion of the alchohol, try to stay away from greasy foods. as for the sickness practice makes perfect is all i can say.

Beleive it or not, i saw Dr. Adell on ch.7 i think say that the best way NOT to get sick from drinking is to drink on an empty stomach!!! He also said that before a night of drinking that lots of water intake is vital so that you don't get a hangover headache the next day. Hangover's are caused from dehydration so that's where the water comes in. I have done it plenty of times and it works!!!! So go get em and remember the ibuprophen before you go to bed!

I've found that if I drink multiple days in a row, my tolerance goes up a lot. You don't have to get drunk, but just have a few strong cocktails every night between now and your competition.

Before the "match," just eat a regular meal. Drinking on an empty stomach will get you wasted fast. Eat too much and you will be full and not want to drink a lot. It might be breaking the rules, but eating throughout the night (while drinking) helps a lot too. Maybe you could sneak a pack or two of crackers here and there. ;-)

For me I found that if I have a bottle of water sitting there with me at the table along with my beer I can drink all night, just remember to drink some water in between your beers. Also its helps for the next morning, no hang over.
Kick some butt!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget to have a good meal before hand, meats and bread.

I don`t know about the pepto bismol or other "miracle pill" that even helps u not geting drunk but if u don`t have an empty stomach it surly hlps coz the food absorbs the alcohol ,but a full stomack will get u surly sick if u want to drink a lot .Eat food high in proteins and and drink 2 tablespoons of oliveoil or sunfloweroil and some salty foods
and try to eat during the "drink off"
