Can anyone recommend the best anisette liquor? Or, what kind of liquor would you recommend for a 25 yr anniv?!

Question: Champagne (from France, not the sparkling wine from California) is always a good choice. I personally would go with El Tesoro's Anniversario anejo tequila, a smooth 7yr aged anejo that is perfect for sipping. It will run you around $150/bottle so it is really only for special occasions like a 25yr anniversary.

Ouzo! YUM.

Why not a nice bottle of Moet or Dom champagne .. and then some good old jack or crown*

Well champagne IS for celebrating! I'm from Temecula, CA and I have to say that Wilson Creek Vineyards makes an incredibly unique selection of wine and champagne. There is the Almond campagne, which is amazing and then they also have this chocolate liquer that is good too. When you visit the vinyard they pour the almond champagne in these little chocolate cups and they call it "AlmondJoy" yo should google Wilson Creek Champagne, or Almond champagne..they're all really good.

I don't know about anisette...but you could ask the storekeeper or go by the price. Frangelica (hazelnut) is a really nice, smooth liquor for sipping, as is Amaretto, which I think is an almond flavor.

isn't anisette like licorice? jagermeister.
