Beer tastes gross?! do people who like beer have different tastebuds?!
Answers: how can some people just gulp down can after can of beer.it reeks and makes me cringe!one of my guy friends said that after a while, beer tastes like applejuice? really?! why? what do you think?
Here's my educated opinion---take it or leave it:
Back when humans first emerged from the treetops (or out of the "caves") and began a rudimentary agricultural society, there were plants available to eat...but nobody knew which plants were safely edible, and which would make you sick or kill you. Humans could, to an extent, observe the eating behavior of animals; if an animal ate a certain plant, then the humans could (usually) safely eat that plant, too.
But that method isn't foolproof.
Also, proto-humans discovered that many plants that were poisonous also had a bitter taste. Again, not a foolproof method, but we (humans) developed a "flag" system for determining what we should and should not eat.
Fast-forward to the modern era. Following 30,000 years of mental development (among humans), along comes beer. Today's beers universally contain a specific ingredient: hops. Hops are bitter---they're used (always, in varying quantities) to offset the sweet flavors of malt, fruits, herbs etc in beer brewing.
MOST humans have a natural, built-in aversion to bitter flavored things. Of course, there are some people who find the flavor of beer/hops appealing, without first acquiring a taste for it. But the majority of modern human beings need to learn to "tolerate" the flavor of beer.
It is an acquired taste. Nobody usually likes it at first.
I think beer is disgusting!! Most people I know say they have acquired a taste for it. I don't think anyone really likes it when they first try it?!
Some beers are better than others. Beer is one of those things that doesn't really taste good, but does. Kind of like coffee. You have to get used to it...
Beer is an acquired taste. As you drink it more it tastes better and you will enjoy it more. I love beer and appreciate and like all different kinds, wheat ales, lagers, pale ales etc. What your friend is referring too is hard cider. Which is apple juice that is left to ferment then turns into alcohol which is not beer. My favorite beer is Blueberry beer it soooo good. It's a wheat ale with blueberry flavor, drop a few blueberries in it and yummy! By the way I hope you are 21!
No. They like it because they're adults.
when your drunk beer is good.. its nasty i usually drink liquor the best beer though is BLUEMOON it seriously tastes sooo good mmmm ..
Most people say that it's an aquired taste but I loved beer the first time I had it. Although I like the lighter beers like bud light. I don't like the dark beers at all. *yuck*
When my ex-husband quit drinking, he constantly spoke of how much better everything tasted since he had quit. He later told me he found out in his AA group that the alcohol anesthetizes the taste buds and you can't taste well. Makes a lot of sense to me!!
agreed - it is definitely an acquired taste. I used to feel the same way about smelling beer, but I have now found that there are some beers I really like. there are all kinds of beer out there. wheat beers, flavored beers (pumpkin, strawberry.... yum!), dark ones, light ones. chances are, the first time you try one, you'll probably think it's nasty, even if it's a good/unique beer, but if you keep tasting them, slowly you'll be able to start telling the difference btwn. different beers & might even find them okay after awhile!
.... though I gotta say, I don't know how ppl drink cans of beer - bottle or draft, baby!! the canned beers are usually the nastier beers & probably smell worse for it too! :)
try cider.
All beer is different. It hard to say that all of it gross or that all of it is good. Personally, I hate domestic mass market beer (Bud, Miller, Coors) out of a can. Lite beer is even worse. Some people (for some hard to imagine reason) really like it though. I like heavier beer: IPA, stout, porter, etc. Other people can't stand it though.
I suspect you like very sugary-sweet drinks. This is why you don't like beer. Try Framboise, a Beglian beer made with fermented raspberries. The Lindeman's brand should be available at any reputable wine/beer shop. It's very sweet and fruity, but it's still beer. And you might like it.
It's deffently an acquired taste.
It's an aquired taste. Just like scotch. The more you drink it, the better it tastes.
