Drinking lot of beer increases fat in human body?!

Question: No, it doesn't make you fat. Being a lazy bum and sitting on the sofa with a bag of potato chips will make you fat. I brew my own beer and consume a healthy portion, around 3 beers a night, and I am still a tall slim athletic person. Granted I work out and chase after my children everyday, but everyone should attempt to have a healthy lifestyle if you want to bring up the quality of your life.

Also I have heard that hops used in beer actually have an antioxidant in them that helps prevent prostate cancer. I think I read it on wikipedia, but I can't remember. So, being an African American male, I'll drink all the beer I can get my hands on......

not fat just weight it helps retain a lot of water making you bloated and bigger cause of the salt in it.

true, that's why they call it "beer belly" Hee Hee

beer has a lot of calories

Here are some interesting articles on the subject.

Who cares............

its not fair is it

Indirectly Yes. Wont go too technical but to understand why fat increases in body due to intake of alcohol is simple. For our body to remain healthy we need to maintain our metabolism at a good energetic level. When we consume alcohol the body metabolism slows down, due to which the body moves into a mode of conserving energy and starts converting carbs & proteins for storage in form of FAT

Beer is not only disgusting, but it is full of calories. So yes you're gaining a little bit of everything... water weight and body fat at the same time all while killing your liver and influencing your ability to make rational decisions. It's amazing what positive things beer can do for you. If you're on a diet avoid all calories in a glass. That goes for any liquid with calories like sodas or sweetened tea (unless you're using sweet-n-low).

VERY, VERY much so. You've heard of beer-bellies. that's true!

Exactly.....

Yes, it does.
"Beer is the world's oldest and most popular alcoholic beverage. It is produced by the fermentation of sugars derived from starch-based material — the most common being malted barley; however, wheat, corn, and rice are also widely used, usually in conjunction with the barley."

Here's the scoop Neo...
Men carry 52% of their body fat in their stomach.
The term beer belly comes from the fact that the excess intake of calories that comes from drinking beer goes straight to the stomach given the previously mentioned.
That same is true for drinking Soda!!! Which has more calories and fat then Beer does! Amen for that!!!

No it's alot harder to get and maintain one if you had alot of beer.

Tons of empty calories

Yes...drinking lots of beer per se will most certainly make you fatter...

*It sure makes u feel & look bloated !!!
Giving yr body a 'fatty' look !!!!!

There is almost no fat in beer. So it does not directly add any fat to the human body.
What makes people fat is a lack of exercise and excessive caloric intake. And consuming alcohol does have calories. These calories should be considered when balancing your diet. As part of a balanced diet, alcohol in moderation (2-3 drinks per day) has health benefits for the heart, and red wine has other health benefits as well.
So please, do not believe the anti-alcohol people who will try to scare you away from alcohol with all sorts of unfounded stories, alcohol contains no fat, and has fewer calories and chemicals and is more natural than sweetened drinks, no more calories than many juices, it is healthy as long as you avoid excess.

No, it doesn't. The human body contains a fixed amount of fat (adipose) cells, and you can't produce more adipose cells than your body already has. All that happens is that they swell up and become larger, mostly in the gut. A 90 pound person has just as many fat cells as a 200 pound person, the only difference is that the 200 pound guy has larger ones as a result of increased calorie consumption.

Actually, drinking lots of beer leads to eating crappy foods at a bar or losing your sense of taste and going to fast food restaurants to eat crappy food. This leads to increasing fat in the human body. Beer, if drank in moderation, is very healthy. It has tons of proteins, minerals, vitamins, and carbohydrates to fuel the body.
