What is the best pairing for Guinness?!

Question: Seriously, I don't need a reason to have a pint, just wondering what your personal fave food is to pair with it.
Cheers!

Guinness, stouts and other dark beers are best paired with red meat. Grilled, roasted or even broiled.

Last weekend I made Guinness stew:

1LBS stew beef cubed
3 Pint Cans Guinness
1 Cup chicken or beef broth
1 medium onion chopped
1 cup Carrots sliced
1 to 2 cups Mushrooms sliced
1/2 cup celery
Worcester Sauce
Flour
Salt, Pepper, Cumin and Garlic to taste.

First, drink one can of Guinness.

Second, marinate the beef cubes in the Worcester for 15-30 minutes. Remove cubes from sauce and reserve. Brown onions in EVOO over medium low heat, remove to stew pot. Coat the cubes with the flour and seer on all sides over medium-high heat in EVOO.

Pour 1/2 pint of Guinness and Worcester to taste into the fry pan and add 2 table spoons flour and heat till thickened. Be sure to get all those great juices from the onions and beef off the bottom of the pan.

Mix the veggies, Guinness.flour mix. 1 and 1/2 cans of Guinness and spice to taste. Cook at 350 for until sauce thickens and bubbles.

Serve of garlic mashed potatoes.

Foodnetwork.com has a recipe for Guinness ice cream...

i have a good mix with guinness- pear cider

I enjoy Guinness with a good roast beef sandwich with potato chips. Also a good burger and fries goes good with guinness as does a shepherd's pie or a pot pie.

If you want to mix it with another liquid, then mixing with Bass beer will give you a Black and Tan which is a pretty good drink.

Oysters on the half-shell!

I know this sounds strange but...Chocolate cake! I had it at a beer tasting dinner at a local brew pub and when the dessert course was brought out I my first thought was cake and beer? No! But I tried it and wow the stout really complimented the chocolate.

I don't actually eat with Guinness, (there's less room for the Guinness), but I do like to add a little Port in the Guinness sometimes and occasionally keep topping up with Port until I eventually end up with a pint of Port to finish the evening off.

Guinness goes best with pub fare like fish and chips. Although in the British Isles, they use battered fish, I prefer dredging the fish in flour, then egg, then panko (Japanese bread crumbs). Soda bread is good Irish appetizer. Guinness is best served at 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit.

I once stopped into Stanley's Irish Pub in Campbell, Calif. I had a pint of Guinness and a bowl of Irish stew. That was GREAT. Sadly, Stanley's is no longer there.

BTW. Why does the bartender pour a Guinness by first pulling back on the tap to partially fill the glass, and then push the tap forward? All other draws are drawn by pulling on the tap. And the tap projects out further than other taps. I know Guinness uses a mix of CO2 and nitrogen, but why is the Guinness tap a 2 stage draw. (Sorry. Got off track. Guinness and Irish stew!)

Guinness and Jameson works for me.
If you fancy food i suggest Surf'n'Turf.
