Here's a good trick to play if he's still out cold. Place a dirty, sweaty, stinky pair of wool socks over his nose!
As far as the ice water thing goes, I'm not sure. I do know if you place his hands or feet in warm water he might piss himself, but you don't want to ruin your couch!
Ahh, I miss the good old days of playing jokes like that on my buddies. I once placed an open Playgirl magazine across one of my buddies chests while he was passed out on his couch. His wife came home and apparently she had a few questions for him, haaa!

The shock of the temperature change to his feet would wake him up, he would kick the bucket of water and would cause your couch and carpet to get wet. I would just make a loud noise by his head or push him off the couch.
