What would be a good wine that would go with bow-tie pasta, and a salad??!

Question: I have a world market around here and there is a ton of wine from all different countries. What should I get??
Nothing too strong

Sauce is not really a sauce. See I make the bow-tie pasta, drain it, put it in a bowl, and put Italian dressing on it, with cheese cubes and black olives. And serve it cold

Pasta salad...I am thinking white. I think a white with some acidity to stand up to the vinegar in the dressing.
Someone else said Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc, that is one of my favorite wines, but I think I'd rather serve it as an apertif, not along such a strong flavoured dish...so I think pinot grigio.

Best of luck, I hope things go your way! Report It

Have any kind of your favorite white wine of your choice that you like best.If you like a wine that's not to dry then try any kind of Riesling from Washington State or a New Zealand savignon blanc Oyster Bay and chardonnay is a dry white wine.

Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc for whites you need the acidity.
Chianti or Sangiovese for red you'll like the tanins.
    Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
    Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
    Ruffino Riserva Ducale Tan
    Antinori Santa Cristina
Those are all available at Cost Plus World Market and fairly priced.

pinot grigio or chardonnay, serve cold.

I am thinking a Blue Nun Resling would be good

Hi! I am Italian and I would suggest you a red full-bodied wine for pasta.
Use the white one only for rice dishes or pasta with no tomato sauce.
Some of my favorite ones are: Santa Cristina, Brunello di Montalcino or a nice Chianti.
    Buon appetito!

i like italian white wines for pasta- goes good together- usually pinot grigio
