i've used the box amount of water for hot and the cold water subbed with vodka. always worked. sometimes, i would add in a little schnapps in place of some of the vodka.

Hey, this answer might not help much, but maybe it will. I will relate my own personal experience to what you're trying to do currently . I don't think you can really go 'wrong' making jello shots; the only problem I had was my friend made them TOO STRONG. Meaning, no girls wanted to take any jello shots. I know you're a female and the same worries don't influence you, but my personal reccommendation, make them slightly weaker rather than stronger, and if ppl don't feel the alcohol, they can always take more jello shots ;)

hope this helps you out

Maybe should make something else, Jello- Shots are kinda weak, but that's just me.

Why don't you just take shots of Patron with sweet tarts inside the shot glass. It doesn't have to be Patron, maybe some other liquor.

Overall, Have fun with whatever you do.

If you do decide to make Jello shots, Red/Green/Yellow are the best to use.

For the best jell-o shots, boil the jell-o and alcohol together (1 cup alcohol), after you have that to a boil, then mix 1 cup of COLD water to it!!! Then put it into your cups. Here are some of my FAVE flavors: Mix kiwi or strawberry jell-o with Midori liquour: take lemon jell-o and lime jell-o (so both mixed with 2 cups of tequilla and 2 cups of water) and make margarita shots: and if you can find it... take apple jell-o and mix it with Jack Daniels and make applejacks!!! Goodluck with your party!!!

My job as a bartender is to make the jello shots so here is what i use. Candy apple which should go over real good this time of year. for every 4oz box of cherry jello use (stronger)1cup hot water 1cup apple vodka gives you 12-17 shots (weaker) 1 cup hot -1 cup cold and 1 cup apple vodka gives you 24-30 shots (this is the one I use so I get more from the box.. As long as you leave in fridge for a good time they will set any way just make sure all jello is dissolved or you will get very nasty results. I would use your imagination go to liquor store and see what different flavors you can mix with different jello. Bluesberry schnapps and mixed berry jello (blue) is a favorite at our bar too.

get 2 6 oz boxes of jello. add 4 c. boiling (warm) water into gelatine in large bowl until dissolved. stir in 1 c. cold water, 1 c everclear, 2 c. schnapps (whatever flavor). use a turkey baster to get it in the cups. sets in 24 h. (perhaps sooner but i never notice).

the water doesn't need to be boiling, just warm enough to dissolve the jello. you can modifiy the recipe but you won't have a biting taste of everclear. people think they're vodka until they down 6 in 30 minutes then they're staring at the wall!
