Did I Take in Too Much Too Quickly?!

Question: Last night me and a friend each drank 9 Miller High Lifes. I don't drink much, but these were drunk kinda fast by me. I staggered and all that, then started to see double and started freaking because I am a hypochondriac. He told me to go into the bathroom and make myself throw up, which I did almost instantly. I could see better after that, calmed down a bit, felt a little better, but was still...tipped I guess. We went in the kitchen and cleaned up our mess, and thats all I can remember. My friend told me that I went and lied down in the bed but I don't remember doing that. Later on I guess, I woke up some time in the middle of the night upright in his dads recliner. I don't remember going to the recliner, but knew I woke up there. I went back to bed, and woke up this morning with a headache, a little come and go fever, sore throat, and diarrhea. Can a hangover have these symptoms or could it be a touch of the flu or something? I slept with no blankets, so, help me out.

The answer is yes lol, if you were throwing up, then you probably drank too much too fast. That, or you did not eat anything beforehand and your stomach couldn't handle it.

Diarrhea can most definitely be a side effect of drinking too much. A hangover is characterized by headache, tremulousness, nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue combined with decreased occupational, cognitive, or visual-spatial skill performance.

All of that could contribute to the fact that you feel sick and have flu like symptoms. However, that does not mean you have the flu. Drink lots of fluids today to rehydrate yourself. Stay away from alcohol, and consume some dry carbs to ameliorate your stomach uneasiness, some saltines or toast would work perfectly. Don't eat too much though, that will aggravate your stomach even more. In the future, just drink slower or less so you don't have to deal with the same thing again.

If you still feel bad after a full night's rest, then you should probably see a doctor just in case you happen to catch something not related to your night of boozing.

Hope that helps a bit.

All your symptoms are normal. Learn your limit and drink water before going to bed next time. you'll learn soon enough that being the one that drinks the most doesn't matter, it matters if you have fun. but any way, the headache came from drinking that much and you're dizzy and you had high life which is a lower quality beer. the more quality beer such as Heineken, or imports, or Leinenkugels. etc, you won't get a headache. the sore throat is irritation from throwing up and for future reference it can be irritated from eating spicy foods the night of throwing up. Diarrhea is from the digesting of the beer and from all the acid in it. Since your body is in a "hangover" you have cold/flu symptoms which will go away in a day or two, just drink lots of fluids and stay away from dairy, which can make your sypmtoms worse. Oh and dont take any Tylenol or ibuprofen before you sleep the night of, since its really bad for your liver when there is alchohol in the system,.Hope all is well and don't forget the water next time.
