Best German Beer?!

Question: I'm having a "german" themed party tomorrow and I want to know one of the best german beers to serve. I have all the other german bases alcohol except the beer and everyone is telling me something different. I need to know before i go to the store in like an hour or so, I don't want the clerk to help me, since i believe i will be ripped off lol - thanx

Pilsner hands down. I believe it is one of the most popular styles of lager beers in Germany. Sam Adams also makes a similiar type called Golden Pilsner I think. It's not too dark and not too strong. It will pair well with german meats, potatoes and veggies. Enjoy your party!

licher

Pilsner Urquell is considered to be one of the best German beers available in the US. I would recommend Great lakes Oktoberfest... not German but a German style.

If u could get your hands on some Steigel Boc beer and some good old Weiss beer with some Jagermiester for shots. Your guests will be rolling.

The best are the ones not exported (unfortunately). They are the ones brewed with care, by people who value quality over mass marketing.

Wheat beers are great
try ho garten it's awesome!

I suggest you go for a Hefe Weizen. Something like Tucher, Spaten, Weihenstephaner, Hofbrau, Schneider Weisse, Ayinger.

btw Pilsner Urquell is not German, its Bohemian(Czech). It comes from the city of Pilsen, hence the name.
German's also have their own version of a Pilsner too. Some common examples are Warsteiner, Beck's, St Pauli Girl.
