I remember hearing somewhere about making alcohol in a marrow?!

Question: Or something like that. It involved I assume putting sugar and I suppose yeast in it, and hanging it in an airing cupboard in a sack?

Only got parts of the conversation, and it was ages ago, just wondered if anybody knows what the hell im on about?

ANY help would be great thanks.

I remember making wine in a marrow when I was a kid. We just sliced the end off the marrow, scooped out all the seeds then stuffed it with brown sugar. then we poured some fresh yeast dissolved in warm water onto the sugar and resealed the end back on with adhesive tape. then all you have to do is put it in a netting of some kind and hang it up until the skin becomes wrinkled and shrunken. Then pierce the bottom with a knitting needle and allow the juice to drip into a clean container. Although I made it quite a few times I never really liked it and found it better if you used the liqueur to make wine in the usual way. the whole thing is very time consuming and not very satisfying. hope this helps

this link is may help.

My first assumption is that you are British and are referring to what we in the USA call a zucchini. I suppose that you could cut, hollow, and plug it but there are easier ways to make wine. I've made similar "country wines" (potato, parsnip, carrot) and tasted turnip wine but chop or grate the vegetable, boil it, and ferment the water (plus sugar and yeast) in sanitized plastic or glass.

the best ive done is to use a funnel and poor in vodka to a watermelon leave it in the fridge over night to soak in and then cut up and eat, not only a healthy snack but helps ya get tiddly!!
