Can someone advise me the name of a store or Department Store in the Nagoya area?

Most liquor shops in Nagoya Area are selling European wines. It is expensive for my friends in Australia to send wine to Japan. Example to send 24 bottles of wine to JP from Australia, the freight costs $A550.00. or $US453.00

The only place to go: Yamaya. http://www.yamaya.jp

Learn it and find out where the nearest one to you is. Most of them are awesome when it comes to finding wines and liquors from around the world.

In Aichi prefecture, there are the following stores:

Hashira Shop: 114-1 Hashira-Hachiban-cho, Toyohashi-shi, Aichi 441-8056, Japan

Kasugai Shop: 1-1 Nakashima-aza Miyamachi, Kasugai-shi, Aichi 486-0904, Japan

Tame Shop: 2-28-11 Tame Nishi-machi, Toyohashi-shi, Aichi 440-0026, Japan

Sakae Shop: Meiji Yasuda Seimei Nagoya Bldg. B2F, 1-1 Shin-sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya city 460-0004, Japan

Shin-Sakura-machi: 2-26-1 Nishi-Konogi, Toyokawa-shi, Aichi 442-0834, Japan

Toyokawa-Inari Shop: 20-1 Nudori, Toyokawa-cho, Toyokawa-shi, Aichi 442-0033, Japan

If that's not to your fancy, you can always try Rakuten and order them online. It's pretty easy, but the site is in Japanese so you need to be at least able to navigate it. We did it once after moving as we weren't familiar with the neighbourhood and it helped until we were able to find a wine shop to our satisfaction. There is a small delivery fee, but I think it was around 500 yen.

a wine shop?place that sells alcohol, supermarket etc

Try buying Australian wines online. But first find out about Japanese customs regulations and whether you will be charged importation duty on what you receive.

There are good cheap wines to be had on eBay, but a few small wineries have their own websites where you can order and pay by credit card. They will be able to inform you of Japanese duty if you ask by email.

Try someone like www.greataustralianwines.com

Cheers!
