Is red wine fattening?!


Question: i prefer red to white but which is more faatening i always thought it was white!!! but i'm not sure!!!

First off, wine does not contain fat. It does contains low levels of sugar. Of course sugars turn into fat if you don't burn them off as spent calories, but wine has very little sugar compared to juice for example.

As to the level of sugar, whether its white or red wine is irrelevant since it depends on the batch of grapes and how much of the natural sugars they have left in the batch after they fermented the grapes. So it would depend on the exact wine you are drinking.

    There's not much in it. Both contain alcohol, and both contains sugars. The difference maybe marginal.

    All alcohol is technically "fattening", because of the high carbohydrate content. One glass every now and again won't make you pork out, though.

    I've heard that it's actually healthy to have a small glass of red wine each day. It's supposedly good for your heart. Don't over do it though, haha! =)

    No. Red wine is actually good for you. It helps your heart. I am not sure but I have also been told that it helps your digestive track. And its better that drinking coke with your dinner.
