Just about any fruit juice goes with any kind of rum, citrus juics work very well. Coconut and pinapple and captian make an interesting spicy pina colada. In the fall mix Captian Morgan and warm or cold apple cider. There are a million recipes out there go exploring.

Take a lemon and cover it in sugar. Take the shot and suck on the lemon.
