Wine Storage & Incandescent Light?!

Question: I have a rack in my basement family room, it is usually dark besides when we watch tv, there are incandescent lights on.

The lights aren't a spotlight on the rack or anything, just the fact that it's not 100% darkness 100% of the time

Does this pose a risk?

This low level light doesn't pose a risk, but if you're concerned, why not hang a cloth over the rack?

Bright light can fade the color of wine, and if it is from sunlight or spot and halogen lights, the heat can damage the wines.

Wine is a lot more robust than many give it credit for.

Nope! The light isn't the problem, it's heat that can destroy wine. It can become what's called "cooked". I work for a winery in Washington wine country.
