Bubbles and red wine (Red Zinfadel)?!

Question: Had a red wine the other night that left tiny bubbles on side of glass after taking a drink. Does this mean the wine is not at its best. It did taste good though and the bubbles were not evident on the 2nd day I had a glass.

This normally means it has started to re-ferment. This is when the sugar starts to turn to alcohol for the second time. It's normally caused by a reaction with the cork or air getting in, but can just happen on it's own, especially if it has been allowed to get warm during it's life.

If it's a very young red, bubbles can also be quite normal, but this is normally due to the first fermentation process being incomplete.
