What kind of wine is good for a date?!

Question:

What kind of wine is good for a date?

Answers:
Depends on what you're making. But if no food is involved, I'd go with a Sirah. Maybe a dessert wine.

CHEAP

the kind that gets you HAMMERED

Bordeaux

strawberry angel...every girl loves strawberrys

Cheap kind!,''Best panty droppers on market

anything that gets her drunk

depends on what you're serving it with.... an italian red is a good go to wine.

Just depends on the person really...

a good desert wine would be a Riesling or Guuertzminer (sp)

White wines go well with fish and chicken

Red wines go well with red meat

Don't go cheap but you still can find a very good bottle of wine for under $20. Let me know and would be happy to give you names of labels that I have personally tried and liked.

I usually have a medium dry french wine. 'Cotes Du Rhone'

It sounds how you read it. It's only around £4.99 or £5.99 and it's a very nice wine. Ideal to share with your date and it's not too sweet or dry.

Unless you have already tried it, I'm confident you'll love it but it is RED if you like RED.

A reisling or a blush, like zinfandale. These wines are sweet and subtle. If you want a good fruity red wine go with pinot noir.

It depends on what your date likes... ask this person what their favorite wine is, and go from there.

(here's a hint: if they like it, they'll be happy drinking it and the evening will flow...)

P.S. don't assume that a sweeter wine like a blush or reisling is the right choice... ASK! I happen to love wine, but I have to choke down most reislings when I am asked to try them because they are just too sweet for my wine palate. However some people find them divine.

you can never go wrong with pinot noir. try a pinot from northern california, or if you want to go big, Oregon's pinot noir is the best that America has to offer.

Date wine???

Then you can brag the point to your friend.
DO you see the PUN?

I would find out what kind of wines your date likes. A local wine shop should be able to point you in the right direction, or try something new to the both of you, it will give you something fun and exciting to talk about.

After having dated several wines I find that none of them make great dates, so I went back to women.

Thunderbird good vintage day before yesterday. Or if you want to make a really good impression go with Maddog 20/20 Good luck. Don't forget to ask the clerk for a gift bag.

I've only ever tried dried dates so I can't really talk about which wine goes best with a fresh date. But for dried dates, I would recommend a good ruby port, say Sandeman's Founder's Reserve. This would be a good wine to serve with dried figs as well.

Get a nice red wine like a Cabernet sauvignon. If you spend $20-25, you should be able to find a good one. Some suggestions are:
Sterling and Robert Mondavi for that price range.
And there are some more expensive ones that are really good: Cake Bread is great. Silver Oak is a fantastic wine too.
Wines from napa valley (not California) are usually good buys.

Red or Chablis

I would ask your date what kind of wine she(or he) likes to drink. It's always nice to drink a wine your date actually likes.

If you are planning a romantic evening, sparkling wine would be a good choice. It can be enjoyed with or without food.

If you are planning on drinking the wine with food, you could try to find a wine that would go well with the meal. Visit this site for more details on pairing wine with food: http://www.cheers2wine.com/food-and-wine...

Try lambrusco: not as much alcohol as Merlot or other red wines.
