Why does champagne stay fizzy if you place the handle of a tea spoon in the top of the opened bottle?!

Question: How do you stop champagne going flat

Answers: How do you stop champagne going flat

I just can't understand why there would be anything left in the bottle to try and keep fizzy???

you cant really
that was on myth busters
didnt ya see?

That's a myth. You can buy a device for keeping the champagne "corked" and the bubbles alive for a short period of time, but it will probably go flat within a few days or so.

That is not true.
