Questio nabout Vodka and how cheap it is, if it affects the alcoholness of it.?!

Question:

Questio nabout Vodka and how cheap it is, if it affects the alcoholness of it.?

I was just wondering, if the price of the Vodka determines the way it was made, or how much alcohol is in it? I don't know much about Alcoholic drinks, so I was wondering. Does mixing Vodka and a juice beverage affect it? Any alcoholic experts and bartenders help me please :D. Thanks.

The main price-setter for vodka is the demand set for it by customers. Before Grey Goose, no vodka was over $20. Now look at the shelves at your store, they are all over $20.
What made Goose so popular was two things: quality and marketing. Otherwise, its just a grain alcohol with few aldehydes, meaning you get less of a hangover.
The main thing to keep in mind when you are buying a vodka is if you can really notice a difference in the flavor, and that you aren't buying something off the bottom shelf, becuase that is almost guaranteed to make you sick.
Stick to a quality product that you do not feel is overpriced, in most cases that comes down to a product like Skyy vodka, as it is a quality product and not too expensive.
If you have anyone that disagrees, pour an expensive one next to skyy and ask if they can tell a difference. Most can't, others just lie because they want to tell a difference but can't

not a bartender a teenager but if you ask me vodka is vodka it has the same alcohol but tastes worse when cheaper and mixing it with any fizzy pop gets it into your system faster... juice with it i dont know... (not that ive had vodka in my life im sooo innocent)(hehe)...

The alcohol content does not change. There are two things vodka is made (distilled) with; potato and rice. Most of the more expensive vodkas are made from potato and are much, much smoother. While there are some good rice vodkas, most all rice vodka is rot-gut.

Stoli is repuatable and comes in many flavors. Apple Stoli + a little sprite or soda water, called an apple press (or whatever flavor suits you). This is a popular drink among club-goers, girls in general and young people looking for an edge. Good Luck!

the price of vodka usually has to do with the quality of the distilling, unless the maker of whatever brand you're buying just felt like charging more. 8)

The better distilled the less flavor and the smaller the amount of impurities. The upside to this is a better quality vodka will produce less of a hangover because of less impurities. The downside is that the hangover effect can never be completely distilled out.

The alchohol content of the vodka is NOT affected by the quality of distillation, to check that look at the proof rating on the bottle. Most vodka's are around 80 proof. If you want to know how much of your drink is alchohol divide the proof rating in half to find the percentage, so the average vodka is about 40% alcohol.

Mixing it with anything else will of course affect flavor, but will not remove or add any alcohol.
