How does Indian attitude toward drinking wine ? Pro or Cons?!

Question:

How does Indian attitude toward drinking wine ? Pro or Cons?

I am studying about the Indian culture society

of alcohol drinking, and would like to know do

Indian have any issues in drinking wine? Do you

as an Indian like drinking wine?

Answers:
I love drinking wine. French wines are my

favorite. Most recently I tasted the Indian

wine Sula and I loved it. It's fantastic, no

less of quality and taste compared to world

class wines. I must say, wine drinking in India

hasn't caught up primarily due to (a)social

taboo; (b) economic factors and (c) lack of

good marketing efforts by the wine makers.

Perhaps they are concentrating on exports

rather than domestic consumption.

I presume you mean Asian Indians. I work with and know many Indians. As a rule, their attitudes towards alcohol mirror the attitudes of most Americans. In fact, my friend Manju brought an exceptional Spanish wine to our home this past Thanksgiving.

in India people prefer to drink occasionally on any eve or festival Indians r not so much crazy abt it but never less there are some exception but they are one in millions of drunkards................

I don't know about Native Americans in general, but the Yakama tribe near Yakima Washington have casinos that do not serve alcohol at all. Alcohol is banned on reservation land. I am impressed by their willingness to take a stand rather than succumb to the lure of selling a product that leads to alcoholism at alarming rates on native reservations and communities. I would like to see other native groups take a similar stand, but the desire for profits is too strong for most people to resist it would seem.

Of course if you are asking about people from India, then the question takes on a whole different perspective. What do you really want to know?

if you mean american indian.. i prefer a hearty robust pinot noir with glazed ham...zinfandel with chicken alfredo, rhine with grouse and 20/20 with buffalo...of course you have to let it breathe.
