What is your favorite Single Malt Scotch?!

Question:

What is your favorite Single Malt Scotch?

What's the best label for beginners? Which are the most pungent and flavorful? Highland or Seaside?

Answers:
Cardhu - hardly see it in the US anymore. Heard it was very popular in Spain and they take most of it.

Islay or seaside are definitely the strongest , most pungent and flavorful. They pick up that salty iodine taste from the sea. They can be almost medicinal sometimes.

And for those saying Dewar's and Johhnie Walker - do you even know what a SINGLE MALT Scotch is?

I go with Johnnie Walker

I suggest Glenlivet 12 year old for beginners. It is relatively inexpensive and excellent. I love Highland Park for regular drinking. I also love The Macallan and Glenmorangie. My friend loves The Dalmore, but I find it a bit harsh.

My favorite is Laphroaig. As everyone's perception of taste is different, I suggest you try a few to find what you like.

In general, I like Glenfiddich, but depending on the mood I'm in, I'll have a wee dram of Laphroaig.

I have yet to find a single malt I really don't like.

For beginners the Glen Family is a good place to start. Single malts typically have good depth of flavor, it really depends on he charcteristic ou seek. Personally in terms of premium singles i like the macallan series, I dont particually like it too smokey.

Johnny Walker green label.
