What is needed besides the Vodka to make a decent one?
Answers:
A real martini is made with Gin not Vodka. 2 and quarter oz. of Gin/Vodka to a quarter oz. of Dry vermouth. Less Vermouth depending on how dry you want the Martini.
ditch the vodka. get gin, dry vermouth, and good olives. Go 2 parts gin, 1 part dry vermouth, or less dry vermouth depending on your taste...
Splash of vermouth -add vodka or gin-then a olive or two

the only thing i can think of besides the vermouth is to run a lemon slice around the rim of the glass before pouring the drinks.
