Buying A Box Of Wine? How Many glasses does an average box carry?!
Many thanks
Answers: I was think of buying a wine box from a supermarket they can be purchased for around £13 are they any good? How long do they last once open and on average how many glasses can you get per box? Or would I be better buying by the bottle? I am just thinking ahead with that day coming up in December when people like to be merry.
Many thanks
It depends on the size of box. a 3 litre box is the same as 4 bottles of wine. ie 75cl a bottle. Glasses - depends on the size of glass. My personal glass holds half a bottle, but most wine glasses (pubs etc) hold 185cl to 250cl. Boxed wine comes inside an airtight bag which should have a very long life, even after opening, as no air enters the bag. Hope this helps.

4 bottles = 1 box
Donno i keep on loosing count after double figures
there good- about 5 bottles in there and are easier to carry.
i am a fan of them
Now that Will depends on the size box you buy and the size wine glasses you have or use.
While, I don't personally buy the box wines, they have come a long way over the years. Here in the US, you can get Yellow Tail in the box now. Yellow Tail makes some pretty decent run of the mill wines. My favorite is their Shiraz-Cab mix. Each box is about 4 bottles of wine, which would be about 16 full glasses. The boxes can last up to 4 weeks.
You didn't say how big the box is. I've seen it in 3, 4, or 5 liter sizes. One liter is almost 6 glasses. Multiply the number of liters by 6 and you've got your answer.
you get 4 bottle to one box not sure home many glasses and not sure how long it will last, mine only lasts one night lol x
never enough!!!!
standard bottle has three 'good' glasses
Never enough.LOL
Seriously, you are asking if wine from a box is good? Ummm... NO! Wine is meant to be in a glass bottle with a cork, not a screw cap and stored on it's side.
Oh...yuck...boxed wine...it's a nasty place to go...they claim to be getting better wine in that darn thing, but I don't believe it.
Now, screw tops...that's the new Big Deal. I've had many fine, very fine wines with a screw top...though I admit I was leery at first. In white they seem to last, red needs to be pumped and sealed as always.
Stay away from the boxes...here in the states it's traditionally a part of a joke or punch-line and involves a trailer park.
Cheers!
:-)
First they last several weeks... NO AIR gets inside the box..
HOW DO WE know how big you tankard is????
You do the math
just hand me a glass...
