What is the best bottle of wine you've had this week?!
Answers: Chteau Le Pin Pomerol 1999 and Dom. Romane Conti 1997. Kinda expensive but worth every penny if someone is willing to share a bottle with you.
Shiraz
Faustino 2 rioja
doodlie squat

Double Dog Dare white wine
I'm drinking it now! It's a lovely Portugese Douro.
white wine
Charles Shaw....cabernet sauvignon....from Trader Joe's
I didn't drink the whole bottle, but the best wine I had this week was Red Cat - so tasty - so smooth you don't even realized you've over imbibed until trying to stand up.
water
Gallo Turning Leaf Rosé 5.68p per bottle . Lovely
I had the best $.39 a gallon stuff....makes your head ache and your stomach scream but, the price is right......
I had this funky little bottle of Oregon wine last night - it was simply labeled "Eric's Red". May have been a house brand. (Palace Kitchen, Seattle)
A bit more tart than a merlot - a bit softer than a cab and, surprisingly for the region, a full-bodied red. A very nice accompaniment to the scallops (yes, scallops - they were quite spicy)
I have some real good sweet down home southern white wine in my fridge.
1997 Silver Oak (Napa) Cabernet.....Big Bear - very impressed though you spelled Romanee Conti wrong..How was the Le Pin? '97 is a bit young...
A cheeky little St.Julien known as Chateau Leoville Poyferre.
some Douro from Portugal
(Quinta do Vale Meao Meandro 2004)
Did a surprise party of my very good friend, who owns a vineyard in Napa.
For entertainment, I did an Opus One Vertical Tasting from 1996-2004. 8 of 9 bottles are from my collection, and one of my other friend donated another. All for free, all for fun. It was an eye opener to taste all of them side by side.
Probably the best bottles of wine I had all year.
