Should I go to the owner of the club I work at and ask for more bartending shifts( i'm new), or wait it out?!

Question: I have already asked my manager and he is no help! Any bartenders out there?

I'm a bartended, and it's all about proving yourself. If you work in a busy, popular bar, then you have to show that you can keep up, be friendly and effective, and not stress out when **** hits the fan. THEN go to your manager about it. If that doesn't work; go higher. But even if you have 10 years experience bartending, every bar is different.

Work the amount of shifts you currently have for awhile, and do a really good job. If your manager sees how well you're doing, you're more likely to receive more shifts than when you've just begun working there.

put out word to the other bartenders there, that you are willing to pick up shifts. you will probably get more offers, than you'd like. i've been in this business for 25 years, and there are always co-workers, that are glad to get an extra shift off. let the owner know, that you'd like to get scheduled for more shifts.
