Vodka is the most versatile, but it needs some help for flavor. I recommend combining it with fruit juice and a flavored liqueur. A couple ideas; the Cosmopolitan
3 oz Cranberry juice (Ocean Spray is fine)
2 oz Vodka
1 oz Grand Marnier
A twist of lime
Or "Sex on the Beach"
3 oz Vodka
1 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
4 oz Cranberry juice
4 oz Orange juice
Plenty of ice
You can vary the amounts of juice depending on how strong you like your drinks.

I love Gin, because it's clear, easy on the tummy, and isn't as harsh as vodka. goes great with orange juice, soda- or my absolute fave: ruby red grapefruit juice. delicious. next up would be the all famous Ketel One vodka. the only vodka I will drink. beer: Bud select. 99 calories, fabulous and gets the job done w/o the bloat.
