Beer will just make you feel heavy and have to pee every 2 minutes. Pounding shots can make you tank a lot faster that you might intend to. Wine is a good mix of enough water and just the right amout of alcohol, and it seems to be the classiest drink.

Red wine. Something Spanish - tempranillo with maybe a bit of shiraz. Makes you warm all over. Add grapes and nuts (macadamias or cashews) and we're in for a bitchin' good time.
