Answers: Where do you draw the line between drinking and Alcoholism?

If you are wondering where to draw a line ,then it's time to do so. The fact that you posted this question indicates that you think you may have a problem with alcohol abuse, and that is enough evidence to indicate you already have a problem. The time to seek help is now!

Blacking out

If I can still draw a straight line, I can still drink.

when you at least come home twice in the same week or month drunk

MAN U 4EVA

I think in Health Class in HS they defined alcoholism as "drinking to get drunk 3 or more times a week". Personally, I think if you get drunk even once a week it's a problem. But that's my own feeling on it.

When you find yourself going to work drunk...that's pretty much where you should draw the line-

The next morning.

passing out dumda**

I'm not judging but just stop. don't do it any more

if u cant live or function without it. likeu need it to survive. then ure abusing alcohol

when people start recommending you to rehab!

Well AA groups would probably give you a long list of supposed symptoms that would probably have most of us believe we are addicts.

I would say the following would classify you as an alcoholic:

1. if you cannot stop drinking once you start
2. if you always drink till you're drunk
3. if you often miss work or show up late for work due to alcohol
4. if you often drink alone, or before noon
5. if you drink before work or before attending an important function.
6. if your kids (who are under 18) have seen you drunk.

when you cannot mentally think right when your not drunk

it should be pretty obvious if you cant stop

When you lose your job to your drinking then you are an alchoholic.

If you drink alone to get drunk then you're an alcoholic. If you go out and party and drink, you're drinking. If you go out and 'drink' 5 or more nights a week, you may be an alcoholic though.

when you no longer become resposible, late for work, legal situations, argumentive, broke but can find a drink......

What line? one leads to the other

WHEN YOU CANT REMEMBER HOW YOU GOT FROM POINT A TO POINT B. AND YOU DONT REALIZE YOUR IN THE SAME ROOM AND POINT A IS THE KITCHEN AND POINT B IS YOU SITTING ON A KITCHEN CHAIR

Alcoholism is when drinking affects every aspect of your life. When you can't control your urges to drink and you start missing work or beating your wife.

If you drink every day
If you drink alone
If you wake up in the morning thinking about when you will have your first drink of the day

THEN

I think you have a problem and are probably an alcoholic

-Crossing The Line-

Drinking Everyday
Drinking More Then 7 Times A Week

-Not Passed The Line-
Have A Schedual
Like Drink Every Monday
Or
Once A Week
Or
4 Times A Month

Alcoholism - When a person believes that drinking alcohol is a cure all to their problems. Drawing the line - Is when you learn to drink in moderation.

Alcoholism isn't just drinking alot or drinking often. It's how the alcohol affects you when you drink. If you can't go out for drinks without becoming something you aren't you MAYBE have an alcohol problem.

There are the functioning alcoholics. those who get used to the alchol and are able to perform everyday activities. people who tend to drink during the day and to a excess and are not able to go even a day w/o drinking i would consider an alcoholic

When it effects your daily life. When you cannot handle going about your day without it. When you are getting sick over it. When you are being told by everyone how your behavior is effecting you, them ect... When you are in trouble with the law because of your actions while drinking. When you have anxiety when you are hungover. When you are broke. When you regret your actions the night before. When you have hurt those you love.

If drinking is the only way you have fun. maybe you might be heading toward alcoholism. If its just for fun the weekends or a holiday its cool. I get plastered when I hang out with friend and have nothing to do. If your drinking by your self and being drunk. then maybe your heading alcoholism. I'm a smoker, I get antsy, irritated when I haven't smoked for a while. if you feel like this about drinking, then get help.

IF YOU CAN'T REMEMBER,WHAT HAPPENED.
IF YOUR CRAVING IT
IF YOUR PERSONALITY CHANGES
IF YOUR SPENDING ALL YOUR MONEY ON IT
IF YOUR USING FRIENDS,AND OR PEOPLE TO GET IT...
IF YOU CAN'T GO A DAY OR A WEEK WITH OUT IT.
IF YOU GET PULLED OVER THAN YOU HAVE DEFIANTLY DRAWN THE LINE..AND YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO REACH THAT POINT...BECAUSE YOU WILL WANT TO THINK OF WAY'S OF KILLING YOURSELF..JUST TO GET OUT OF IT..

When you need it, but you don't think you do. If you think you don't need it, ask the opinion of someone you trust.

If you're old enough to drink you should know the answer. Don't be stupid.
