Why dosen't beer have any nutritional facts on the bottle?!

Question:

Why dosen't beer have any nutritional facts on the bottle?

Like calories, carbs and that kind of stuff?

Answers:
because the only things that have to have those facts are foods and beer is not a food.

Beer is liquid bread. Just check the nutritional information off of a loaf of Pepperidge Farms Whole Wheat, or something.

They were able to slip through the cracks of the FDA.......There is a debate going on now whether they should start and looks like that beer makers will have to comply.....to a certain extent of course.

It's beer. It is derived from grains and such.

You know it is High Carbs, High Calories, but nothing else.

What more do you need to know... You are not supposed to drink the stuff by the barrel full, you know, one glass a day max.

You drink at your own risk.

Because it doesn't have any nutrition.

Probably because we are so eager to drink it, we don't want to take the time for such things as looking for nutritional facts.

Because!

It's also kind of weird how alcoholic beverages are outside the realm of the FDA, being governed by a separate entity, but not energy drinks, which also alter your mental state. I guess it's another one of those things that happened due to some historical quirk, and no one bothered to change it.

It does.....read before you drink cause its really really tiny.

It is because alcohol is governed by the A.T.F. not the F.D.A.. The F.D.A. is who forces food and beverages to list nutritional information. So alcohol just happens to be under a different branch of the government.
