says that people were causing problems at a family friendly event because they were drunk. It says from now on "Neighborhood associations are also advising Last Thursday attendees that consuming alcohol from open containers will not be tolerated. " How are you supposed to drink from a container if it's not open?

Answers:
The term "open container" is used in reference to alcoholic beverages. This means you can freely drink soda, milk, and smoothies in public, but you can't drink any alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, etc). They don't just say "no alcohol" because that would eliminate closed containers - say you were giving a bottle of wine as a gift or prize. It may seem unfair for the association to say this, but each has their own set of rules and regulations - plus they probably recieved a few complaints. Ignoring their warning could result in a heavy fine or even police action. Got milk?

Open container laws prohibit possessing and/or drinking from an open container of alcohol in certain areas.

They got the mayor canidate in Texas for having a open bottle of wine in his parade car as it went through the parade.

"He had a open alchoholic beverage in a moving vehicle."

Doesnt make sense, but it does.

it is pretty lame reporting..

Quite simply, actually and you can make a little bit of cash while at it. Next time you're out at the pub, bet your friend $20 that you can drink from an un-open bottle of beer. Once he/she takes the bet, grab your un-opened bottle, turn it upside down, and poor a little bit of their beer into the divet in the bottom of your bottle. Drink up, and collect your cash!
