What is a way to open a bottle of wine if you do not have a wine opener?!

Question:

What is a way to open a bottle of wine if you do not have a wine opener?

Answers:
Take drywall screw & screw into cork. Then take a pliers and grab the head of screw & pull.

Simple! get a butter knife, and use the handle to VERY VERY GENTLY push the cork into the bottle. Try to do it over a sink, cause you always spill a bit (3 drops-half the bottle depending on how drunk you are already) Enjoy!!

I ran into this problem once... We were on a weekend getaway and we left ours at home. I used my wife curling iron... Pushed the cork right into the bottle. Sure if was not the classiest way to do it, but I did not spill a drop....lol

butter knife does work. Slip the butter knife between the cork and bottle, and push down and in a little. Keep doing in on different side until you grasp enough to pull up on the cork. It you can't pull it out with your fingers, keep using the knife.

If you don't have an opener and you try any of these suggestions, just make sure you have a filter or cheese cloth to strain the wine through because those corks shred. Not fun to drink!

I've gone to my local grocery story wine department and gotten several "complimentary" wine openers. The are essentially freebies the wine companie give them to give away.
