Why beer is flat when you've just opened it?!

Question: Sometimes when buying a cold six-pack of stubbies from the bottle-O, right after opening a stubbie, the beer is flat? I place the beer straight into the fridge and never leave it out, so what could be going on?
Ps, apologies for the Aussie slang.

Shivers do you drink the beer under one of those ceiling fans? I know they send the beer flat very quickly. I am assuming your beer actually gets a chance to hit the table first!! If you're a good Aussie girl like I suspect this might not occur.
I brew my own now, it's a bit of stuffing around but the beer is beautiful. It's like the difference between eating fresh food and processed stuff.

Because the bottle wasn't sealed properly.

Agree with KK above. Something not right in the bottling. even if you never refrigerated it it should go flat if properly sealed.

If this happens regularly I'd buy a different brand.

Could be a fault in the batch or a leak in the seal. I'm thinking of tinned beer (tinnies?!) because I don't use bottled beer but I should imagine similar factors apply.

actually - the problem is between shipping and you taking it home it has been shaken too much believe it or not , put some in an ice chest and let it sit in your car for a day or two and when you open it it will be flat - over shakig causes it.
