Is all lambic beer like Lindemans Framboise Lambic?
I've always wanted to try the lambic because of how its made, but I was a little disappointed with this one. It was kinda like a rasberry wine cooler. Whats a good lambic without a fruity taste?
Answers:
Absolutely not! In fact, though Lindeman's products are "genuine" Belgian-made beers, they are not at all what a traditional lambic tastes, or smells, like. Lindeman's most popular varieties, like peche, kreik, and framboise, are much sweeter than "real" lambics. They also don't have the sourness that the better Belgian lambics have. You can consider Lindeman's (with maybe two exceptions) beers to be "user-friendly" lambics, at best. Real lambics will be much too tart for the average consumer.
If you want to try the real thing, look for Cantillon brand. Don't expect to find it as easily as Lindeman's though. Another one is Boon - though this brewery tends to "tone down" their lambics a bit, but not as much as Lindeman's. Both have limited distribution in the U.S. and both represent traditional spontaneously fermented beers. But be prepared for an entirely different taste and bouquet than Lindeman's products.
Pucker up, and good luck finding one of these!

no- the framboise lambic is really fruity- i could never drink a whole 0ne- but lambics do not have to be so fruit heavy.
try the three philosophers beer from ommengang brewery- it has a LITTLE fruit in it- but just enough to add flavor, not sweetness.
delicious!
Lindeman's lambics are very sweet compared to other lambics. You can buy unflavored lambics. They're called gueuze (rhymes with 'bruise').
There's also Liefmann lambics.
