Depends on your tastes really. I much perfer it on the rocks. There really is no right or wrong way.

Well, I don't particularly like the taste, so I do it straight in a shot. All down at one time. You do need to be careful though. If you don't want to get hammered, don't do very many! If you want it to last, I'd do it on the rocks and sip it.

Straight from the bottle with a funny old Irish alcoholic like me. We know wonderful jokes and they are funnier the deeper you go into the bottle.
Personally for me is in coffee. But on the rocks are OK also. Depends on ur taste. Just try it out a few ways that's the only way u'll know 4 sure
Try an Irish Car Bomb:
3/4 pint Guinness? stout
1/2 shot Bailey's? Irish cream
1/2 shot Jameson? Irish whiskey
Add the Bailey's and Jameson to a shot glass, layering the Bailey's on the bottom. Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug 3/4 of the way full and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug. If you don't drink it fast enough it will curdle and increasingly taste worse.

Basically, it depends on individual taste and circumstances and what you eventually grow accustomed to. In other words, even your own preferences may change over time.

Actually intravenous may be the best but of the choices offered I suppose on the rocks will do in a pinch.

I'm with that other guy. Drink it like it was made to be. Neat. Room temp, a fine crystal rocks glass, and to avoid the burn, I suggest not guzzling it. Duh.
I don't suggest intravenously. The only thing you should do intravenously is vodka.

my irish dad prefers iced whisky with a splash of water... honestly i think the water is just so my mom doesnt yell at him for drinking it straight up.
