Help! I forgot to add the betonite pkg to my wine kit, it fermented 7 days THEN I added it, what now?!

Question: When I made up the kit, I forgot to add the Betonite package to the must.
So, added it after the fact, did I do the right thing? or should I discard the whole thing?
OHHHHHH

It will be fine (no pun intended). You can add bentonite as late as you want and it will be ok. A previously mentioned, it's used to help clear the wine...it's referred to as a "fining agent." It has no effect on the actual fermentation. You might even have better results with your next batch if you added it even later into the process...even after your fermentation has completed; i.e. weeks.

Just give it time and continue along per the instructions and see how it turns out.

Yeah...its probly gonna tatse like potting soil now. Better luck next time though.

it shouldn't be a problem because bentonite is used to absorb excess protein molecules that cloud up a wine when it reaches higher temps. if your making white wine just store it at a cool temperature, but like i said its a clarifying agent so it shouldn't be a problem
