Why is the motivating reason to buy a bottle of wine because of the label displaying a little furry animal ?!

ha ha! i like this question. i will often buy the wine for the label because i don't know much about wine. i actually heard on some special on pbs or something that it often works to choose wine by the label style (if you don't know what you're doing) because the the label refelcts the winemaker's style, and if that style suits your style, you are likely to enjoy the wine as well as the label.
With all that's out there, something out of the ordinary might get me to actually read what's on the label instead of walk right past it, but usually the one single thing that always grabs my attention first, is the price tag.
