What's the cheapest way to get absinthe in the USA?!

Question: The most expensive part of buying from overseas is the shipping, but luckily there are two absolutely authentic, made-with-grande-wormwood absinthes that were recently made available in the United States after new understanding of the laws that appeared to prohibit the drink. Those are Lucid and Kubler.

You can buy both online here: http://www.drinkupny.com/category_s/86.h...

Or if you're lucky you might live by one of the stores that sells Lucid: http://www.drinklucid.com/get_lucid_absi...

OMG! Go to the liquor store and buy it! It is legal now!

Why do people keep asking this question the stuff tastes like sh** and it doesn't make you hallucinate?

Even without the wormwood it doesn't matter. The studies that showed that it was a psychotropic were discredited but the laws that where put in place to ban it were never repealed.

I've only had it once. To tell you the truth, it didn't taste good (and DOESN"T make you hallucinate) and I didn't even finish the shot that was poured for me. Probably better off just buying a good bottle of decent tasting liquor.

If you don't have a liquor store nearby that carries it, your best bet is http://www.seborabsinth.com/

It's worth nothing that most liquor stores will carry some variant on absinthe, however, without the wormwood that made it illegal in the US for so long, it's not quite the real thing.

The cheapest and closest thing to real absinthe I have found is Herbsaint. It is reasonably priced, although hard to find.
It tastes of anise and caraway. I like it quite a bit, but know few others who do.

If you want good stuff you should get it from Mexico. Green Fairy Absinth. I bought it when i was on vacation this summer, we got it on the cruise ship, the plane and home, so as long as you put it in your non-carry on luggage you would be fine. Good ****, makes you trip.
