Question: .

Answers: .

if u tried in a licenced pub club ect no! if its made with real beer.. but if you and some mates go out and order a meal and sit down too eat yes u can and wine and beer and port! if u go for a meal and ur with and 18yr plus u can legally sit and drink any drink you want so longs as u ordered a meal.. but not if your alone .. but the shop bought shandy is ok as it only contains flavours and not alcohol so in your local shop ur not getting the real thing..

yep

They sure can!

Theoretically, although it is a grey area at certain Supermarkets.

i beleive so, my son is 11 and he bought a can of shandy from the shop round the corner

Yes

The pre-made stuff by Barr yes as it isn't really alcoholic only in so much as there is a trace. A real shandy from a pub however then no.

yeah you can, i used to buy shandy when i was 12, so its legal...

Yes no problem

yes i think so babes

you can even purchase alcohol when ur over 5!
as long as you have a doctors perscription and or note, this is due to lack of iron and drink like guiness is full of it. you can also have drink in a pub if accopyined with your parents.

The beer flavored with lemons? Not if you are in the US.. 21+ unless you find a store/bar that doesn't care who they serve to. Elsewhere... don't know.

It might be hard to find as most brewers have it as a summer only release. Now is when we start getting into yummy stouts and barley wines.

I much prefer a good Lambic over a Shandy any day.

Normally only if it is very low or non alcohol, a 50 / 50 shandy as you would get in a pub would be over the limit for under 18's

Yes i think so. I remember my friend always used to bring cans of it to school !

I would hope so. I used to drink it on Saturday night with a bag of crisps :-) Sensible alcohol consumption is a good thing - I like the French way of giving kids a glass of wine mixed with water at a family dinner. That way it does not become a big thing when they get older...the mystique is removed.

This depends on where you live. A shandy is beer mixed with sprite or 7-up. So, you have to be 21 in the states. It's the same for non-alcoholic beers. Although they're not as strong as straight beer, they do contain alcohol.

If it has alcohol in it, you know the answer: NO.

:-O

yes,they can

As others have said "real" shandy (i.e. larger mixed with lemonaid) No - because of the larger. The stuff you buy ready mixed, yes as it's so weak.

It's worth noting that in the north of england, although not legal, it is socially aceptable for kids to drink shandy in pubs with thier parents.

Also, kids 12 and over can (legaly) have one glass of wine bear or larger, WITH FOOD (a meal, not bar snacks) when acompanied by there parents.

Gonna have to jump in here guys. I teach licensing law for the British Institute of Innkeeping and the law in England & Wales says that you must be over 18 to purchase alcohol. There are no exceptions to this. Shandy sold in cans/bottles is below 0.5% alcohol by volume and is therefore not legally classed as an alcoholic drink. 16/17 year olds can drink beer, wine & cider if it is purchased for them by an adult and they are all sitting having a meal together.

Hope that clears it up?
