because its awesome and doesnt cost much
because once it hits your lips...its just so good. sometimes good things cant be described. this is one of them.
If you like it straight, as compared to mixed, or in the extremely sugary bacardi malts, then you are smiply enjoying the fact that its made from fermented sugarcane (like all rums), as compared to potatoes (vodka).
Actually Bacardi is my least favorite rum, it has an odd after-taste that I just don't like, it's even evident in mixed drinks, yuck! A couple of good inexpensive rums are Mount Gay & Myers.
Btw Dave, Vodka is made from all sorts of grains, not just potatoes.
