Are American lagers like Budweiser or MGD as expensive in Europe as Duvel, Becks, Guinness, etc. are here?!

Question: Why does Duvel cost 11.99 for a six pack of eleven oz. bottles? Is it that good? Who buys this stuff in America? Donald Trump?

They are a lot more expensive in Europe than their local beers. I was in Amsterdam and I saw a sign that had Corona for 4.50 euros, (American) Budweiser for 4.00 euros, Duvel (yes, it really is that good. Try it. You'll believe me. I buy beer because of the complexities of taste, not because of the price tag.) was 2.50 euros and a kriek lambic was 2 euros. It's true, no one in those countries drinks those beers other than American tourists.

Yes. They are imports. They cost the same as an import here.

Been in Ireland, France, Spain and Scotland in the past 6 months...and that's a fact.

The bud sold here is I think brewed here too. (UK) So it's not any more expensive than local beer.

That said bud is just about the only beer that has any level of popularity as US beers are considered poor quality, weak and gassy.

Most UK beers sold either on tap or take-out is european for lager/pilsners (golden in colour with gas). Beer/Bitter/Ale is much darker less or no gas and normally english in origin.

I paid $6 for a single bottle of Chimay last week at Whole Foods.

I've been to Europe many times. No self respecting European would drink any AB, Miller, Coors, etc. beer. The only reason they sell in Europe is for dumb *** American tourists who don't drink real beer!!!

Why would anyone that is not an American be dumb enough to waste money on a cheap product like Budweiser. Guiness is expensive because the ingredients used to make it are more expensive. Just like Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Deschutes, Anchor Steam are going to be even more expensive than Budweiser because they are PREMIUM beers. Bud coors miller and such are gross, they don't use quality ingredients. Its why the product is so cheap. It's like leather vs pleather.

American products cost a lot more in europe. There is no demand for them.

No one in Europe would buy those beers and some countries have import laws banning them (some do it because they want to protect their domestic industries, others do it because honestly drinking those beers is a crime).

The reason they cost so much right now is because the American dollar is now worth less than the Canadian dollar. Buy domestic until this whole terrible U.S. economy thing blows over.

Nobody in Europe would touch a Budweiser or other American pee. Not enough alcohol in it.
