I'm not here to tell you BLATANT inaccuracies like all riesling and gewurz is sweet!
Wine for beginners: You have 3 main things to consider.
1. Bubbles of "flat" (champagne is bubbles)
2. Red or white (traditional champagne is white)
3. Sweet or dry.
If you aren't used to champagne, you might want to consider only having it for a main toast. The rest of the time, have an assortment- along with cheese and meat snacks.
Each person can find what they like, and you might even start a life trend. Just TRY not to overdo it.

Turning 21 requires hard liquor and beer. Wine is for when you turn 30.
As for wine...I really like Lambrusco. Good stuff! Champagne...I couldn't really tell you. I don't personally like it.
