I am looking for a good tequila in the $50-100 range?!

Question: i know patron not my favorite

Answers: i know patron not my favorite

For the lower end of the range:

Herradura anejo- $50
Cielo anejo- $55
Tezon anejo- $55
El Tesoro anejo- $50

All four are excellent choices. El Tesoro's anejo recently took second at the wine and spirits competition, receiving a 98 rating.

On the higher end:

Tres Manos anejo- $75
Reserva de la Familia- $100
El Tesoro's Paradisio- $100

There are quite a few other top shelf tequilas that are excellent- these three are some of the easier to find ones. Paradisio was the winner at the recent wine and spirits competition, garnering a 99 rating. Any of the three are an excellent choice. If you are going to spend $100 on a bottle of tequila, you may just want to step up to the $160 El Tesoro Anniversario (7yr aged anejo). It is a limited production and once it's gone, it's gone for good. Give it a try while you still can

Try: Cabo Wabo. It's top shelf. Sammy Hagar makes it...

Patron is bulk Tequila and has been for years. Good on ya for seeing the light.

For good estate tequila try:
Partida Anejo about $60
Chinaco Reposado about $50
Gran Centenario Anejo about $65

I've bind tasted these with 155 other ones and these three consistently finish at the top of the lists in both consumer and trade tastings.

Jose Cuervo Especial

If you're looking for good tequila you don't have to spend 50-100, you can pick up a bottle of heradura, or milagro anejo or reposado and enjoy.

Definitely go for the Cabo Wabo, courtesy of the one and only red rocker himself, Sammy Hagar!

First of all Patron and Cabo Wabo are OK but are mostly marketing!

Also, do NOT buy your typical Jose Cuervo as this is hill billie crap! lol! The Jose Cuervo Tradicional and the Reserva are not bad.

In your price range (or less) you have a ton of choices.

Don Eduardo Repasado or Anejo is excellent at around $50-$60.

Heradura is good at around $40 or so.

Centrino is good at around $40 or so.

The "everday" tequila of most Mexicans is Calzadores at around $40 or so.

Good luck and enjoy!

I have a preference for Centenario.

I also like the silver Patron even though it may be over priced.

Stay away from the Tres Generaciones, unless you like tequila that tastes like wiskey.

Whichever you choose make sure it is made with 100% Blue Agave from Mexico. More brands are being manufactured using less agave and should not be considered as real Tequila.
Don't be fooled by price alone, higher price does not mean a better drink.
